Skill-Based Rehab: Dancing

Dancing is good for your ankles, knees, and SOUL :)

Great news if you like to dance!

It doubles BEAUTIFULLY as knee and ankle rehabilitation.

Now of course the central joint repair commandment applies:

"Thou shalt move as gently as needed to keep joint pain below a 3/10"

Light dancing has all the properties inherent to a specialized type of strength coaching known as "extensive plyometrics."

These "low-level" forms of plyometric (or dynamic) movement - which can be as simple as bouncing on your toes for an extended period of time (30+ sec) - have been proven to help rebuild deep-joint tissue structures like the meniscus and cruciate ligaments.

So if you've got knee problems and you want a playful way to start healing them, you could do a lot worse than putting some music on and bouncing around for a bit.

At some point you'll likely need to develop a more robust knee repair practice.

That's where people like me come in handy.

In the meantime, try bouncing around your living room for a few minutes a day. Your knees, ankles, and SOUL will thank you :)
